Introduction
The U.S.–Japan relationship today spans many facets, from military and business to politics and pop culture. As Professor Peter Duus writes, “The relationship today appears to be more durable than it ever has in the past. But as history has demonstrated, there always remains the possibility that the pendulum might swing again.”
Your teacher will assign your group to conduct research on one of six topics related to contemporary U.S.–Japan relations. Work in your group to research, learn about, and report about your assigned “facet” of contemporary U.S.–Japan relations.
